Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
abba Products FAQs
Do I need a special fitting kit for your stands?
The abba Superbike Stand requires a fitting kit for most models of bike, these kits are designed especially for each model. When you try to purchase the superbike stand from our online store, you will be asked to select your make and model of bike, and the system will select the correct kit for you if required. All of our other lifts/stands do not require a fitting kit.
What do I do if I change my bike and need a new fitting kit?
You simply order a new one... kits are priced between £9.95-£29.95. You can either order by telephone or the online store. Kits are updated each year for new models of bike.
I have lost a part on my abba superbike stand. Can I buy a replacement?
All parts on the abba superbike stand are available to buy. If you have lost part of the fitting kit you can buy these via our online store or buy phone (some parts are NOT available to buy separately, you will need to buy the complete kit). If you have lost any other part of the stand, please contact us by submitting the enquiry form on the contact us page or by telephone 01621 854489 (option 1).
Is it safe to leave my bike on the abba superbike stand long term - i.e winter storage?
The best way to store your bike if you are not using it for 1 day or 1 year is to leave the bike on a stand that will offload the suspension and get the wheels off the ground. The abba superbike stand does this like no other stand. Lifting in this way means there is no load on the suspension when storing you bike. Therefore, YES it is safe and is the PERFECT way to store your bike when not in use. (unlike convention paddock stands that do continously load up the shock).
Will the abba superbike stand work on my workbench?
The abba superbike stand will fit on some workbenches, depending on the width of the bench. You will need a bench width of 26.5" or more.
Will I be able to remove my front forks when using the abba superbike stand?
When you have a abba superbike stand, the rear wheel will be off the ground and because the abba superbike stand lifts in the centre of the bike, you can push down on the rear of the bike and the front will rise (like a see saw). You can simply keep the front end of the bike off the ground by using your own jack/prop under the front engine area, or you can use the abba front lift with the superbike stand and this will do the job for you. You then will be able to totally remove the whole front and rear of the bike. (i.e. the wheels, forks, yokes, shock, linkage etc.)
Is it safe to use the abba front lift on the exhaust pipe spread or engine sump area?
YES it is safe, when using the abba front lift with the abba superbike stand (or a bike that has a centre stand). There is no problem at all using the front lift on the exhaust pipe spread or the sump area (this is where it is designed to fit). The main weight of the bike is taken on the main abba superbike stand lifting on the swing arm pivot, the abba front lift is just acting as a balance to keep the two wheels off the ground. This is still very secure.
Will you be at any Motorcycle shows/exhibitions?
